Iconic Point Soft Launch in Penang

New Property All Sold Out During Soft Launch

Keen buyers queued up as early as 4.30am

PENANG — Iconic Worldwide Bhd’s maiden property project Iconic Point recorded a 100 per cent take-up rate during its soft launch at its sales gallery in D’Piazza Mall, Penang.

Ten minutes into the two-day soft launch, 70% of the units offered were snapped up by keen buyers who queued up as early as 4.30am in the morning. The booking was on a first-come-first-served basis.

TY Hong, who arrived at 6am, said she did not expect the crowd.

“I know that people are keen because it’s a project by Iconic Worldwide but I just did not expect anyone to beat me to the queue. I thought we would be the earliest,” said Hong.

A buyer, who did not wish to be named, said he was interested to invest in the development due to its strategic location.

“I live nearby the development and I see its potential to bring in a high rental return. Simpang Ampat is attracting a lot of interest lately thanks to a number of new and major development projects such as IKEA and Design Village.

“Today, the roads around Simpang Ampat are getting busier. It’s actually a good sign. The highly anticipated Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP) will also enhance the connectivity between Penang and the mainland,” he said.

Buyers who placed their bookings during the recent soft launch enjoyed a booking fee of RM20,000 instead of RM50,000. Additionally, buyers also get to enjoy RM100,000 discount from the sale price, which starts from RM2mil.

Strategically located near the junction of Jalan Permatang Tinggi and Jalan Bukit Tambun, the development is expected to become one of the key commercial centres and landmarks in the Simpang Ampat township.

The diverse nearby amenities include the Penang Bridge, second Penang bridge, shopping malls, schools, police station, various eateries, banks and petrol stations. The development is also a stone’s throw away from the nearby KTM station.

The development comprises 49 freehold units of modern three-storey semi-detached and detached shop offices with individual shared lift, sprawling across 8.7 acres.

Its commodious layouts make the units suited to a vast spectrum of business – from retail stores, cafes, restaurants and pubs, to beauty salons, boutiques and more.

There will also be a four-storey boutique hotel as well as three drive-thru F&B outlets with tenants such as Starbucks.

The development is expected to be completed in 2022.

Also present during the launch were Bukit Tambun assemblyman Goh Choon Aik and Iconic Worldwide Berhad managing director Datuk Tan Kean Tet.

“This is the first time Simpang Ampat has seen such a development, with semi-detached and detached shop offices with individual shared lift concept, and the price we have set is very close to what we offered for Icon City.

“We have done this so that our good customers can enjoy some price appreciation for the products made by Iconic, and this has resulted in many customers coming back to support our new project,” said Tan.

Iconic Point is a joint venture between Iconic Maison Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Iconic Worldwide and Iconic Development Sdn Bhd.

It is designed to replicate the success of the original Icon City that was completed five years ago by Iconic Development.

Iconic Worldwide was formerly known as Sanbumi Holdings Bhd. The company received approval from its shareholders for its name change during their extraordinary general meeting held last month.
